Dear Parents and Students of SVMS,

Welcome to the 2021 – 22 School Year!!  We are expecting an amazing year with you and your kids.   As with every year, we will have some new faces to welcome at SV and I will introduce them to you at our Back to School BBQ on August 10th.   Mrs. Koon and I are busy with schedules and those should be in place by August 6th.  Please be patient as we are finishing hiring which affects classes and schedules.

This year we are trying to bring back “normalcy” to our school day.  Please read Mr. Van’s Superintendent Message about reopening schools on the district webpage.  As far as SVMS, our plan is to tighten things back up and raise our expectations from last year about attendance, missing work and discipline.  I hope you will all support this effort as we try to get back to pre COVID conditions.

Many of you know, but in case you don’t this will be my last year in education.  Retirement is calling my name.  I look forward to a great year with you and your kids.  I want to have fun, challenge the students to do their best and just enjoy every minute I can with all of you.  I am very grateful for the opportunity to have been involved in the Platteville Community for 13 years.  The memories I have and the friends I have made will be with me the rest of my life.

Thank you,
Mr. D
