A Message From SVMS

Dear SVMS Family and Friends,

The staff at SVMS would like to extend our best wishes to everyone.  We miss all of you and hope you are all healthy and doing well. We have been busy meeting (virtually) and planning how our online teaching and learning will be delivered to our students.  The staff has been amazing during this process, working hard together to deliver lesson plans and work to our wonderful students. Parents, below is an outline of what you can expect from SVMS during our online learning time.  If you have any questions you can email any staff member by using the staff directory tab located on the right side of our webpage:

What to expect from SVMS online learning:

  • Up to 3 hours per day (Tuesday - Friday) of work

  • ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies will have 30 minutes each of work per day

  • Art, Band, Choir, L.I.F.E., PE and Health will each have up to one hour of work per week

  • Mrs. Seelhoff’s Reading Intervention will require 20 minutes of iReady 4 times per week

  • No assignments for Shop, Tech, Multimedia Writing, or Theater.

  •  3rd quarter grading ends March 27th.  All assignments not assigned by March 13 will not be counted in the final grades.  All missing work that wasn’t handed in by March 3rd will be exempted from 3rd quarter final grades.

  • 3rd quarter report cards will be ready to view on Infinite Campus for parents on April 3rd.  If you would like a paper copy mailed to you please call the office and leave a message, 970-350-4201 option 4.

  • 4th quarter grading starts March 31st.  Grades will be taken from online assignments.

  •  All staff members at SVMS were eager to reach out and communicate with students while we can’t get into our school.  Each staff member has a Homeroom group that will be in touch at least weekly. The purpose of this is to see how they are doing on their assignments, how they are doing overall and what needs they may have.

  • This will start the week of March 31st.

Support for Students and Parents

  • All teachers will be available between 8 am and 3 pm Tuesday - Friday.  Although we will make every effort to respond as quickly as we can, we will be sure to get back to you within 24 hours.

  • Technology - Use support tickets [email protected]   for technology problems

  • 8th grade ROPES will be modified.  More information to come.

  • Grab and Go lunches will be available at SVMS front door on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm.

Take care of yourselves and stay healthy.  Please reach out to us if you need anything.
