The Weld County School District RE-1 in the County of Weld, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
At this election 4 Directors will be elected
- District A (LaSalle),
- District C (Platteville), and
- 1 At-Large District
Each of the above positions will be for a term of office of four years
- 1 Director will be elected for the other At-Large District for a term of office of two years.
- To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the school district. The candidate must also be a resident of the director district which will be represented, with the exception for At-Large districts. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election. Petitions for District A and C must be signed by registered voters in the town you wish to represent. At-Large candidates may obtain signatures from any registered voter who lives within the boundaries of the school district.
Nomination petitions may be obtained at the Educational Services Building. Office hours are 7:30 A.M – 4:00 P.M.
Completed petitions shall be submitted to Jeff Angus, District Election Officer, no later than on August 27, 2021.
